Ahmad Khan

Zürich, Switzerland
Welcome!
I am a MSc Computer Science student at ETH Zürich, specializing in Machine Intelligence (AI). My intersts lie in building efficient machine learning systems, from both an engineering angle and reserach perspective. Currently, I am writing my masters thesis at IBM Research and the ETH AI Center, supervised by Matteo Manica and Imanol Schlag, where I am building a novel quantization scheme using ternary weights to enable efficient deployment of models for client projects.
Prior to this, I was turning research projects into commercial products under the Research Engineering division at QCRI. Some of the projects I have worked on include Allama, JUDO, SIHA, and Tasrif.
I received my BSc in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University in 2021. I was recognized as an Andrew Carnegie Society Scholar for my acadmic achievements, leadership, and volunteerism throughout my studies.
As a student, I was involved in Computational Biology research under Professor Ihab Younis, working on data visualization dashboards and pipelines for RNA-Seq analysis.
I also enjoy Computer Science education, and was a Programming Instructor for 20 highschool students under the Summer College Preview Program at my alma mater CMU. If you know good educational initiatives I could volunteer in, please reach out!
